Work Coordinator (Electrical & Instrumentation)

Excellent opportunity for an experienced work coordinator to supervise work teams and improve plant and equipment reliability at Kalamia Sugar Mill.

Sucrogen (formerly CSR Sugar) is one of the world’s foremost sugar companies with seven sugar mills in tropical North Queensland. Located in the picturesque Burdekin River Region Kalamia mill is a highly automated sugar milling operation.

We are seeking a solutions focused, motivated team player to join the Electrical team. This person will play a key role to improve the reliability, availability and cost effectiveness of electrical plant and equipment through the appropriate prioritisation and supervision of electrical staff on site.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring compliance with all safety procedures, safe work instructions, legislation and rules.
  • Daily supervision of work teams involved in maintenance and capital within the Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) area.
  • Managing personnel issues at the initial stage including setting standards of performance including counselling.

Applicants with the following attributes will be highly regarded:

  • A commitment to continuous improvement including safety and environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Good written, oral and aural communication skills.
  • Ability to counsel and apply the disciplinary process where necessary.
  • Significant maintenance experience in the E&I area.
  • Planning and resource allocation experience.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and common software.
  • Good training skills, especially relating to apprentices, in safe and efficient maintenance repairs.
  • Ability to guide and support others, work in a team environment, and accept responsibility for performance improvement in others when required.
  • Ideally working toward Diploma or higher in electrical engineering.

It is recognised that training may be necessary in certain areas and this will be provided as required.  We are ideally seeking someone who has formal qualifications or is working towards these and is keen to join a progressive organisation that offers real career opportunities.
